Irene's Night by Tom Forbes

The Catfish Chapter is privileged to announce that Tortuga Pines Publishing and the author will donate $10 to the Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter for each sale of the book Irene's Night, the story of a PALS and her battle and life with ALS. Each book, coming in at over 600 pages, is $22.95 (plus $4.00 shipping & handling) and can be ordered by downloading and filling out the order form available HERE.

About the book:
Tom Forbes’ Irene’s Night is so much more than the chronicling of a woman’s journey with ALS. It is a testament to the tenacity of an artist. Her art was her essence, and its expression would not be silenced by ALS. It is the story of a transcendent love; a love more powerful than the darkest night. This soul baring tale from Tom Forbes offers a gift of validation for caregivers who are in the midst of their own “night.” He does not set himself up as an iconic caregiver or a martyr as he plays the hand that life has dealt him. Instead, he allows us all to share his deepest thoughts and feelings, no matter how painful and revealing. Thank you, Mr. Forbes, for having the courage to open this window into your world.
-Suzanne Gilroy, MSW

About the author:
Tom H. Forbes is a retired tobacco buyer who lives on his goat-farm, Hickory Winds, in Eastern North Carolina. His home at Hickory Winds was built by his own hands. With nearly one hundred acres of swamp on the property, Tom, an avid hiker, prefers the quiet, canopied trails along the lazy moving waters of Tranters Creek. Already a published author, he enjoys writing about the lives of unheralded, unseen people.
